NADP
 
[Abkürzung für Nikotinsäureamid-adenin-dinukleotid-phosphat], ein im Aufbau dem NAD entsprechendes Coenzym, das sich von NAD durch einen zusätzlichen Phosphorsäurerest, gebunden in 2-Stellung der mit dem Adenin verbundenen Ribose, unterscheidet. NADP ist wie NAD Coenzym von Wasserstoff übertragenden Enzymen; durch reversible Wasserstoffaufnahme entsteht hier das reduzierte Coenzym NADPH (auch als NADP · H oder NADP · H + H+ oder NADP · H2 wiedergegeben). - Das NADP wurde 1931 von O. H. Warburg und W. Christian entdeckt. Frühere Bezeichnung für NADP waren: Triphosphopyridinnukleotid (Abkürzung TPN) und Codehydrase II.
